The no striker effect continues for Manchester United captain Wayne Rooney as well as Louis van Gaals' Manchester United. The United No. 10 has failed to score in his last ten games for United.
In the match against Newcastle, Wayne Rooney has nothing but a disallowed goal to show in a match that was 70% dominated by United for 90 minutes. United did every thing right but lack the fire power to score and the man at the fore front (Rooney) only had two shot on target.
Rooney, who had a goal disallowed for offside early, registered a shot on target for the first time this season but is still without a goal in ten games for United since April.
Manager Louis van Gaal, though, maintains that United is not in need of attacking reinforcements before the transfer window closes on Sept. 1.
"I am satisfied with the performance and not with the result -- and that is different," Van Gaal said. "We were unlucky with rewarding ourselves because we have created a lot of chances."
In summary; Wayne Rooney's goal drought continues as United ended on a goalless draw against Newcastle.

Rooney in recent form as being playing better as an attacking midfielder or better put as a supporting midfielder, taking a striking role will only cause more goal drought for him and the club. Luis Van Gaal should get a striker and play him as SS or AMD.
